Whitby Cottages

Luxury Cottages at one of the UK’s finest seaside resorts

Whitby 199 Steps

If you’re looking to stay in a Whitby Cottage, then you have excellent taste: Whitby is one of the UK’s finest seaside resorts and is famous for its stunning coastline, beautiful beaches, and award-winning fish and chips.

Whitby Abbey was a 7th-century Christian monastery that later became a Benedictine abbey. The abbey church was situated overlooking the North Sea on the East Cliff above Whitby in North Yorkshire.

Whitby is a small seaside town to the north-east of the North York Moors, a large national park containing beautiful rolling hills and natural heathland. The town grew as a whaling port from the mid-eighteenth century and allowed many families in the area to become rich from the trade. Today, Whitby still generates money from fishing and is a popular tourist destination.

Why Visit Whitby?

If you’re planning a trip to Whitby, there are plenty of things you can do. You can go on a Whitby coastal cruise and marvel at the beautiful Yorkshire coastline. If you’re lucky, you may even catch a glimpse of a whale.

If historical monuments are more your thing, then you can visit Whitby Abbey, the ruins of a church that dominates the East Cliff headland. The church provides fabulous views out to sea and the Whitby coastline.

“Possibly the most perfect location in the Dales - absolutely idyllic. Beautiful house too. You will not be disappointed!”

Kevin, April 2019

“Boutique 39 is in an excellent location to visit the Yorkshire Dales and East Witton is a very pretty peaceful village. The cottage is so luxuriously furnished and so well equipped it was an absolute joy to spend time in the cottage. The owners have certainly created a wonderful holiday home and although it was great to visit different places in the Dales it was a real pleasure to return to relax and enjoy this gem of a cottage at the end of the day.”

“The owner Corey was very welcoming and helpful. The cottage is very comfortable, well equipped, cosy and very clean. Highly recommended! We found the pretty village of East Witton an ideal base for exploring the Dales, but unfortunately no amenities other than the Blue Lion Inn. Have already re-booked for next year...”
